JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Rate Clerk / Pricing Associate

I. JOB SUMMARY
Provide administrative support for the Pricing/Revenue Management Team. The ideal applicant should posses an understanding of freight procedures and Bill of Lading through a Transportation industry. Compile and maintain records of business transactions and office activities. Follow written policies with regards to pricing quotes and communicate with the Sales Team. Identify opportunities to advance auto-rate percentage. Maintain positive customer relations in response to calls.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Handle daily queues
2. Identify any quote discrepancies/errors and communicate to Pricing Supervisor
3. Responsible for Manual Rate Audits/Implementation
4. Communicate to Manager of any Adjustments, RQ & Resolutions.
III. REQUIREMENTS
1. Basic computer literacy.
2. Effective organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple tasks with interruptions from phone calls.
3. Effective verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills for handling phone inquiries, composing correspondence, dealing with customers and assisting management.
4. Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Must be able to type 45 wpm.
5. Swing shift hours may be required.
IV. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in the transportation industry including night billing procedures.
2. Experience with AS400.
3. Knowledge of National Motor Freight Classification guidelines.
