Mechanical Designer
We are looking for a motivated and creative person for our Nortek Air Solutions (NAS) location in Tualatin, OR.
General Description: This is considered a entry to mid-level position for mechanical design of custom engineered thermal and structural products for the medical and cleanroom markets. You will be using SolidWorks/Inventor tools to develop 3D designs for product manufacturing and customer installations. As a designer, you will be given customer specifications and expected to develop solutions, perform analysis, deliver final product models, and support production staff. You will have opportunities to expand expertise in model based design methods and product development.
Other position details: Under supervision, you will develop designs to meet customer specifications for multiple projects and priorities. Perform work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may include a variety of complex features, system interactions, and unique materials. Follow company policies, new product development processes, and design guidelines. Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, supplier specifications, industry standards, and product manuals to determine feasibility and risks. Design cleanroom systems, air handler, lighting, and structural systems for use in medical and cleanroom applications with high standards for quality and performance. Participate on new product design teams Release designs to production using business processes Participate in field installations, problem solving, and other customer support activities. Aid in programmatic implementation of cleanroom and air handler programs
Education & experience requirements:
Associate Degree or 1 year Design/Drafting certificate
or equivalent experience
Must have 3D Inventor or SolidWorks experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel required)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail with effective ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
